Inclusive & Accessible Playground Equipment
Inclusive play means every child can get to the equipment, get onto it, and play alongside their friends — not on a separate piece at the edge of the site. BDI Play Designs supplies inclusive and accessible playground equipment ranging from single ground-level events you can add to an existing playground to fully ramped, wheelchair-accessible play structures. Ground-level and transfer-friendly equipment is the easiest place to start: roll-on and wheelchair-transferable spinners such as the All-Around and E-Z Spin, accessible swing seats with trunk support, accessible bouncers and rockers, sensory panels, communication boards, and the full Freenotes Harmony Park outdoor musical range, which is playable standing, seated, or from a mobility device. At the structure level, ramped decks, accessible routes, wide bridges, and transfer platforms let a child move through elevated play rather than around it. Quiet spaces such as the Cozy Cubby matter too — inclusive design serves children with sensory and cognitive differences, not only wheelchair users. All equipment meets CAN/CSA-Z614 and ASTM F1487, and layouts can be designed to CSA-Z614 Annex H accessibility guidance. Summit Spectrum Playground
An inclusive agility playground packed with opportunities to climb, navigate, explore, and play together. An integrated wheelchair ramp and accessible steps connect children to the action, while climbing boulders, overhead events, a tunnel, and 5- and 6-foot slides offer plenty of challenge and adventure.
Universal Funland | Wheelchair Accessible Playground
Universal Funland is a thoughtfully designed wheelchair-accessible playground that brings inclusive and active play together in one connected space. Three accessible ramps provide multiple entry points, while two slides, a ground-level wheelchair circuit, accessible spinner, swings, climbing challenges, and agility components create a variety of ways to explore and play. The interconnected layout forms a Grounders loop that encourages continuous movement throughout the playground. Designed for pour-in-place rubber surfacing, the layout can also be modified for use with engineered wood fibre.
